Michael S. Donohue, Pharm.D

Graduated from the University of Arizona as a Doctor of Pharmacy in 1987. Practiced in both hospital and private practice for over 24 years primarily as a geriatric care pharmacist.  Dr. Donohue has had extensive diabetic education since 2003. In addition to serving on the Arizona Pharmacy Association in legislative committee, Dr. Donohue also chaired and co-chaired the Geriatric division of the Arizona Pharmacy Association. Dr. Donohue also served as an Associate Professor at Midwestern University and is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Arizona. Dr. Donohue currently is President and CEO of Donohue and Associates of Arizona, Arizona's largest independent Pharmacy Consulting Service.

Frank Melone, RPh.

Frank Melone grew up in Tucson, Arizona and is a graduate of the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy. Frank has almost 30 years experience in community and long term care pharmacy, where he has among other things managed medical office building pharmacies, worked in chain pharmacies and was a consultant, manager, regional manager and training director for a national institutional pharmacy chain. Frank has 14 years experience in the pharmacy benefit management industry serving as a marketing director, sales training director, web based training developer and learning management system administrator.  Frank currently resides in Scottsdale with his wife, Gail.

Martin D. Higbee, Pharm.D.

Martin D. Higbee, Pharm.D. is a retired Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Science at the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy.  He received his B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Utah in 1973 and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Texas in 1977.   Dr. Higbee taught clinical pharmacy practice at the University of Utah from 1977 to 1987.  He joined the University of Arizona faculty in July 1987 and retired from teaching June 2009.  He taught pharmacy students clinical practice in Nursing Homes for 7 years to meet their Geriatric Pharmacy practice experience requirements and then taught geriatric clinical pharmacy practice at the Veterans Administration Hospital Based Home Care in Tucson for The University of Arizona until June 2009. Dr. Higbee’s teaching and practice emphasis is in geriatric medicine. He has experience  in the area of geriatric drug research for efficacy, safety, pharmacokinetics and cost analysis.  His studies have investigated new therapies for Alzheimer’s disease, pressure ulcers, and urinary incontinence.  Dr. Higbee has published widely in the area of geriatrics and is a co-author of the Geriatric Dosage Handbook, published by LexiComp, Inc. His long-term and corporate consulting spans over 30 years and his legal consulting over 15 years. He also presently is an Associate with Donohue and Associates, a long-term care and assisted living consulting company. Additionally, he is the president of his own consulting company, Arizona Consulting Pharmacists Enterprises, Inc. which does long-term care, legal and corporate pharmaceutical consulting.
